Calories burned during workout

Can anyone explain to me why the calories burned during a workout take like sometimes up to 40+ seconds or more to update to show you how many calories you are burning during that workout? I will be weightlifting and I monitor my calories burned, heart rate, and time of workout. I will be into the workout, say for example, 1 minute and still it will not show calories burned, but than all of a sudden I see 6. Than another minute and a half will go by before I see it update to like 15. Why is it that it just does not show what calories you are burning as you go along workout out without any elapsed time? When I wear my Fenix 3 HR it shows the calories burned as I go along. It does not doing it in what appears to be increments like the Ionic.

Hi @Lavier

It should be quick.  i see it immediately.

Please try the following:

Shutdown the Ionic:

On Ionic, open Settings  > About > Shutdown > confirm the shutdown.

If it still doesn't work, please restart your ionic.

  1. Press and hold the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. This should take less than 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.

Hope this helps.

Hello, young lady. Thank you for the response. I think I may have worded my issue incorrectly. I can see the calories as well. The issue is that the calorie count as I am working out updates itself like every 30 seconds or more. For example, I will start a workout and I can be into it already say 1 minute and working out at an accelerated rate. I will at the end of that 1 minute see, for example, 3 calories burned. I keep working out, and about a minute and a half or 2 minutes into it, I will than see 10 calories burned. It updates the calories burned in increments instead of in succession - 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on. It will be 3 than 10, than 17, and so on. I have a Garmin Fenix 3 that I also sometimes use and it shows the calories burned in single digit succession, not incrementally by multiple digits at a time. It's actually pretty annoying especially when you get used to seeing it as I have on the higher end trackers like the Fenix. I truly appreciate the feedback. You have been the only one. I hope you like Brooklyn by the way. I was born there. I absolutely hate Chicago.

I am having the same issue while lifting weights. And on top of that, when I go into the fitbit app, calories burned during weightlifting are not showing up. Not sure what to do... So disappointing because I had no issues using my Charge2

I returned th Ionic some time ago. Not worth it. Every fitness
tracker/watch has one issue or another. I have concluded that they are all
one big scam.
