Cannot charge when overseas

I noticed that when I am overseas and when the battery of my Ionic watch is flat, I cannot charge it. The watch does not show the % of charging - just blank. 

When I get back to my country I can charge the watch. It happened in my recent travel to Japan and Brussels.

I've not heard of that problem before!

 

Are you using a different USB power source when away? It sounds like it may not be getting enough power.

I use the same charging cable. The only difference from charging whilst at home is the USB cable is connected to a 3 pin plug which is then connected to the power point socket for electrical supply. While overseas, as 3 pin type power point socket is not used, I used an adapter to plug to the power socket. The USB cable is connected to the 3 pin plug and then to the adapter.
