I finally got my Flyer headphones (which I'm having a hard time pairing them with my Ionic, which is another topic of disappointment...) so I decided to start transferring music to watch. I have the latest Mac update and when I try to log in to start the process, I am greeted with an error message: "Sorry, this feature is only available when you have an Ionic paired to your Fitbit account. To pair, please use the Fitbit mobile app."
I have unpaired my Ionic from my Fitbit app and from bluetooth with no progress. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, gone through the setup process numerous times and CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure this out. What do I do? My Ionic and Flyers are brand new and shouldn't be having so many issues. Please send reinforcements!

Let's take this one step at a time.
Have you made a Fitbit account and paired Ionic with the mobile app? If so, shut the app and then login to the desktop app using the same account e-mail address. The paired Ionic should show up.

I have the same issue, and mine shows up in my mobile and in the web application, but I get the same error in the software when attempting to transfer music. It's beyond maddening.

I am getting the same message on my Mac..."Sorry, this feature is only available when you have an Ionic paired to your Fitbit account. To pair, please use the Fitbit mobile app." It's definitely paired. I tried on my boyfriend's Surface and then got the "Looking for your Ionic..."
Very frustrated at this point.

Was this ever resolved? I recently purchased my Ionic and I cannot sync/transfer any music because the Fitbit Connect simply does not detect my watch. I am also getting the same error message, "Sorry, this feature is only available when you have a watch paired to your Fitbit account. To pair, please use the Fitbit mobile app." This is quite frustrating since I paid $300 for this watch and it CANNOT do a simple task. Please email me if anyone has found a solution.

I have not found a single instance where anyone has actually transferred music from MacBook Pro or AIR to Versa.
If you use the "Transfer Music" in FitBit Versa, it will display "Use your computer to start transferring music". But when you go to the FitBit Connect App on Mac, it will display "Sorry, this feature is only available when you have a watch paired to your Fitbit account. To pair, please use the Fitbit mobile app."
My iPhone is paired and syncing fine with Versa.
Reading all the replies and checking google indicates that only Windows 10 has the ability to transfer music.
If anyone has *actually" transferred music to FitBit Versa, please reply with details. Please, no reference to document as it is useless.

Yeah have actually transferred music to my Fitbit Ionic via the Mac Connect App. Do not have a Versa to test unfortunately. But does work from Mac to Ionic -> just takes an extremely long time over WIFI is all.
2.3 GB takes about 2-3 hours from start to finish. Have done this 4x now. Key is to have playlists ready to go and a very strong WIFI signal btwn the Ionic and computer.
If your playlists come up on the Mac Connect App you immediately click on the playlist circle you want -> then an x will appear. After about 5-10 min the storage bar will identify how much space and where the playlists will sit on the drive. Then after another 5-10 min -> an ETA will appear below the bar and it will very very slowly fill the bar in with purple.
Is very important to just let it do its thing and not make any changes once the transfer starts. If you do -> the transfer may have problems. A couple times the last song in the playlist could not be played. So had to redo because was changing the playlists around,
Long and short is that the Mac can transfer music to the Ionic over WIFI. As an aside I have noted multiple times now -> Fitbit needs to revisit how music can be transferred onto their devices. As comparably other brands do this in about 5-10 min tops via data cable or drag and drop into micro SD. 2-3 hours is way too long in this day and age. Fitbit knows my position on this and seem to appreciate this feedback.

Still the same, I am using a compatible network (2.4.g); I can see that WIFI Logo flashing on Fitbit; the IP Address shows up on the Fitbit app on Mobile device, IP address is displayed in the Fitbit briefly before it shows wifi off (in ABout). I think the wifi off means it is not in use.
I still get the error "Sorry, this feature is only available when you have a watch paired to your Fitbit account. To pair, please use the Fitbit mobile app." and this makes no sense.
I still have not found anyone who can vouch that they have transferred music from *MAC* to *Fitbit Versa*

Hmm? Would contact Tech Support in that case. Def works for me with Mac and Ionic.
But have never seen the error message.

I was able to transfer from Mac Book Pro to Fitbit Versa. It was actually my error though figuring out took longer than it should.
Here are some tips:
- MAke sure that your Fitbit is charged
- Ensure that Fitbit can connect to Wifi
- Even after you have set up the wifi (u can check the manual to see how to do it), the display on the Fitbit will say wifi off. I this does not mean Wifi is not connected, it means wifi is not in use currently.
- Turn off all Bluetooth
- The transfer occurs using Wireless
- The error "Sorry, this feature is only available when you have a watch paired to your Fitbit account. To pair, please use the Fitbit mobile app." is misleading. I had the password reset and then logged in.

“I was able to transfer from Mac Book Pro to Fitbit Versa. It was actually my error though figuring out took longer than it should.”
Yeah the Ionic music transfer is needlessly way too clunky and way too slow. But as noted -> it is what it is. Bottom line is you got music to load from your Mac to your Versa. So you can finally play some tunes. That will be nice. Persistence does pay off.
No doubt for the average joe -> this is way too difficult and cumbersome. I have made this very clear to Fitbit in my posts etc.
