Changing timezone on Fitbit Ionic - My experience.

If anyone is thinking about buying a Fitbit Ionic fitness tracker...beware...the sync function when you're changing time zones is a nightmare...basically it just doesn't work and even manually trying to sync the watch to your phone to update time zone is a bust. Works fine as long as you are only in one time zone!! I work for an major International airline and so am changing time zones frequently. 

I have tried speaking to tech support and the first time the technician walked me through some tweaks and for a brief time the Ionic synced when I travelled outside my home time zone.  Sadly it soon reverted to not syncing and has pretty much remained that way since...I tried in vain once again to get some help from Fitbit and this time they blamed my One Plus phone for the 'problem' because it was 'not a supported device'...even though the settings in the App are set to 'automatic time zone and Automatic location...it won't sync the time from the phone to the Ionic...only the fitness data.  So frustrating!!!!  I guess this was a very expensive 'mistake'...when I finally get fed-up with having to work out the correct time for the time zone I'm in and give the watch to a charity I will be switching to Apple Watch or some other Android supported fitness tracker/watch that reliably syncs the time with my next fitness tracker!  Ironically, I want this to be a reliable watch more than I want it to be a fitness tracker!!
