Charging and turning on

So my ionic device was updating to the latest firmware and during this time I could see the device was not charging (although the charging indicator was active) the device bugged out and didn't updated it just seem to "crash" I have cleaned the connections on the cable as well as the device it was charging for at least 3 hours and still won't turn on indicating 0% is this a continuous issue as it seems have only happened because the device needs to update (although for whatever reason it won't)

Mine updated... failed.... Customer services told me to reset the device... BRICKED... I have left it off charge for a few days and when I do the ten second press of the left and bottom right button the 0% shows on the display. No matter how long I leave it on charge, it won't come back to life. Only once it's off charge for a few more days will the 0% come back. 

It's totally dead, apart from the fact that it comes back to life to show me 0%.
