Common issue? Touchscreen unresponsive

Last night, my Ionic was charged in the 90% region when I went to sleep. I woke up to it completely uncharged and off, so I plugged it in until it was back to 100%. After putting it back on my wrist, I had to sync it to get the correct time, and strangely it kept the step count from the prior day and moved it to today. About an hour later, the fitbit logo displayed and nothing else. I held down the three buttons to reset, and it came back up, but then the touchscreen wasn't responsive at all. I tried installing a different clockface, but that did nothing. I also notice that the brightness settings are turned way down now as well. I've tried resetting 4-5 times now, and even removed the device from my account and put it back on again, to no avail.

Well, I checked in with customer service and it seems my Ionic is bricked. Pretty watch, and I'm disappointed to return it to the seller (as they do not offer warranty on 3rd party sellers outside of a select market of resellers). Now I have to rethink my options, but I'm pretty sure I am scared off of getting a FitBit smartwatch anytime soon. They all seem to have similar issues.
