Hi,

Sorry for my english :$

I want to get a fitbit ionic, that will be my first fitbit product and i'm worried about the posibility ionic doesn't work correctly with my Moto G5 Plus (Notifications specially). Moto G5 Plus is not on compatibility list.

Anyone has a Moto G5 or Moto G5 Plus and can tell me if everything works correctly?

Thanks!

You can check the supported devices at https://www.fitbit.com/devices

Though the g5 doesn't appear on the list yet, it is possible that the features you want (notification) can work, though not always.

I use a galaxy J7 (a non supported device), and almost never have had any issue with syncing, and the notifications always work.

My mum recently got a new Moto G5 Plus and it is very hit and miss at the moment with her Alta HR.

Getting ready to return my Ionic because the G5 has so much trouble syncing.

I don't blame you, it is totally unacceptable to try and use a phone compatibility list as a get out when you can't seem to get it working with some phones which cover the basic requirements.

Anyone tested new app version 2.67 with Moto G5 Plus? It solved the sync issue?

Thanks for checking, I wish they would actually acknowledge it and have a plan to fix it.

I'm using it, no major issues.

Notifications to the Fitbit are a bit hit and miss but that was the case with the previous version too

@GuiParreira @BobG817 @reportered Welcome to the Fitbit family! Thanks for your interest in using Ionic with Moto G5. @Embattle

As you already know, Moto G5 is not listed as a supported device. Still, it may still sync properly. I have a Moto G4 (not supported) and works just fine. There are some features that won't work properly (like Do Not Disturb option), but I can sync, receive notifications, download clock faces/apps, and most of its features.

However, it is not guaranteed that it will work perfectly. You can still give it a try or better yet use Ionic with a supported device or computer.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Another app version (2.69) and Moto G5 Plus still do not sync. Let's go back to version 2.58.

@GuiParreira I hope you're doing well! Thanks for sharing this information regarding the Fitbit app and the Moto G5 Plus.

As you already know, the Moto G5 Plus is not a compatible device. This is the reason why you keep experiencing syncing issues with it.

I'd recommend using another mobile device (supported) to sync your Fitbit device. Another thing you can do is using a computer to sync. You can sync once or twice a day and that should be fine.

Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

Or dump the fitbit and get a tracker that actually works with a popular phone, rather than keep being point at a compatibility list.

I only maintain my Fitbit because it still works with app version 2.58. If
in the future there's not a way I will change my band to another brand.
