Fitbit ionic had just arrived.

One of the reasons I chose it was to have music on board .

There is no option under 'settings' for adding an audio device or searching Bluetooth devices as setup help suggests there should be...?

Did I get dealt a defunct product?

Linking bluetooth headset is on the options app on the Ionic. From the clock screen swipe left until you see the options (gear) icon. scroll down until you see the bluetooth tile.  Tap that and you should see the +audio device tile. Tapping that will begin its search for a bluetooth device in discover mode.

You should have an option on your Ionic under settings called "Bluetooth Connection Options". Tapping that option should provide an option to "+ Audio Device".

If you don't see those options, you will likely need to ensure that your Ionic has the latest firmware. This would be completed through the app on your mobile device.
