Constant Syncing Issues and new time delay issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

So for the last 2 days the time on my fitbit seems to be 10-15mins behind the actual time. I have my settings set for it to auto update from my phone and the time zone from my phone. Which i guess would work but it won't sync!!

i have had my fitbit for 6 months now and have had constant syncing issues. Like it wont sync for 2 days then randomly at 2am will sync. This means any runs that i track i cant see the details of on the app or in my linked strava account for days sometimes. Today the app says it can't find my Ionic at all. It synced this AM when i was running in the middle of nowhere. But now i can't sync my run i did as it can't find the fitbit.

I've restarted the watch and my phone multiple times, reset the wifi/bluetooth multiple times, tried syncing through the windows app as well as the android app (Samsung S9 so a approved device), uninstalled and reinstalled the fitbit app. The only thing I've not done from all the posts with similar issues is a hard reset as i don't want to lose the data of the 12mile run i'm still waiting to see!!

These issues have been there since day 1 but the new update seems to have made it worse. The stupid thing now doesn't even function as a watch as it has the wrong time!!

Any ideas of how to fix without deleting my run data?

Hi @Alfiesam, nice to see that you're digging into the Forums. Thank you for troubleshooting this beforehand by restarting your phone and device, between some other steps you've tried too.

Sorry about the syncing issues you're having with your Fitbit device. I'd advise to turn off all Bluetooth devices around the room. If you can delete your Fitbit Ionic from your Window 10 device it would be better. Also check your phone Permissions and leave location on to keep syncing and getting notifications with your phone, for more info check this suggestionsfrom @ErickFitbitSmiley Wink

Check some requirements that your phone and Ionic should have in order to successfully communicate:

Requirements:

  • For Android phones: to help improve the delivery, go to Notifications and make sure Enable Notification Widget is on. If you recently updated the Fitbit app, reboot your mobile device and try setting up notifications again.
  • Make sure the Do Not Disturb setting on your mobile device is turned off because it prevents the device from sending notifications to your tracker.
  • The software on your mobile device is updated. To check, tap Settings > General > Software Update iOS for Android  Settings > About phone > Android Version.
  • If you use more than one Bluetooth phone, tablet, or computer to sync, the other one isn't nearby (or has Bluetooth disabled).
  • Your tracker's battery should be fully charged.

If the syncing issue remains with a mobile device I would recommend following the steps below:

  1. Restart your Ionic
  2. Reboot your phone and check that you phone and Fitbit App is up to date (Fitbit app should be updated since you've just reinstalled it)
  3. Open Bluetooth Settings on your phone and delete your Ionic from there (forget device)
  4. Open Fitbit App > Account > Ionic > Remove device (tap on the trash can in the upper right corner)
  5. Reboot your Bluetooth and double check that it is not connecting from there
  6. Force quit the App. Open it again Account > Set up a device

Those steps wont delete your recent information, all details should be safe on your Ionic.

If there is anything else we can help you with, do not hesitate to post it.

I have spent 3 months trying to get my versa to work.

Now I am getting an iphone and apple watch. Not worth it for this piece of crap that never works. Toss it in your burn can!
