Hi, @swimmer20, I don't think it would be a good idea to swim with a cracked screen as that is likely to breach the waterproof seal and could further damage your Ionic.
Unfortunately a cracked screen generally falls under accidental damage so would not ordinarily be covered under warranty, but it would probably be a godd idea to get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support on contact.fitbit.com. They may be able to offer you a discount on a new tracker, which you could use to purchase a cheaper Fitbit, such as the Flex 2, for swimming, and carry on using your Ionic day to day, as long as you aren't troubled by the crack. I am not sure if you are aware that you can use more than one Fitbit on the same account and switch off amongst them.
Sorry not to have better news, but physical damage to your Fitbit is not something the Community can really help with.
