Delete all old data

I bought an Ionic yesterday and set it up with no problem.  Only issue is that 3 years ago I looked into Fitbit and created an account to see their features.  Now I seem to have steps already from 2014 even though I didn't own a Fitbit.  I even have a Badge for walking 5000 steps.  How can I delete all of this old data so that I can start fresh.  I don't want to have to create a new email address just for Fitbit.

@gmarmy If you want to retain the same email, then it would appear it’s not possible to clear old data directly. I pulled this from the help pages-

HOW DO I DELETE STEPS AND FLOORS?

It's not possible to delete steps and floors, but you can achieve the same result by negating them:

Log into your fitbit.com dashboard.
At the top of the screen click Log.
Click the Activities tab.
Under Log Activities, type in Driving and enter the date, duration, and start time.
Click Log. Your steps, floors, and calories burned will decrease for the time period you specified.

Not it the answer you were looking for but hopefully sufficient to help.

@SunsetRunner—thanks very much for finding that information for me.  I have managed to negate the steps but can’t get rid of the badge. Kinda weird that it gave them to me in the first place since I didn’t have a Fitbit.  Guess I will have to create a new email address after all.  😞

I thought i saw an option on the web dashboard to delete your current account.

n that case the email adress can be reused in a new account.

But you would have to setup the fitbit app again on the phone and maybe setup the ionic too.

Phone: Xiaomi Mi5 OS: Android 7.1/Lineage 14.1
Watch: Ionic

I wouldn’t mind having to set everything back up again as I would prefer to start fresh with it as of tomorrow. Sure hope I can find that option. Thanks very much!!

Sent from my iPhone, excuse the spelling!

I just talked to customer service and they can delete all of the old data by deleting my account but I wouldn't be able to setup my Fitbit with the same email account for 48 hours.  Very frustrating!!

I deleted my account. Created a new one with a different email address. Reset my new Ionic and it still had old data. I don't know what to do!
