Device Lock disabling alerts

I have Fitbit Pay enabled, thus the Device Lock is enabled, and I have come across the problem where I'm wearing my Ionic yet if it loses contact with my skin the Ionic will lock  and when it locks, all alerts and notifications are disabled.

I noticed it the other day when I was working  and realized I had not received my Move alert. When I checked, my device was locked, and I had missed 2 hours. I tested it the next day by removing my Ionic and putting it back on to lock it, and making sure I didn't have over 250 steps that hour, sure enough, the 50 minute mark came and went, and I was not alerted to how many steps I had left in the hour.

Other then disabling Fitbit Pay and the Device Lock any way to fix this?

I also have not been getting any notifications that I have enabled when my device is locked, so I have missed several incoming texts and calls when this has happened.

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Thanks for sharing the experience you are having with Fitbit Ionic's device lock.

Try changing the device lock setting. There is a setting which is "Enabled for Fitbit Pay". It should ask you to input the PIN when you make a payment after you put your watch on your wrist. The "Enabled" setting will prompt you to input it every time you put your watch on your wrist. To change the setting do the following:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Tap or click Device Lock.
  3. Tap or click to change your device lock setting.

Hope this helps. Please let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy
