It is a virtual account number assigned to your device.
I never really thought about this, but noticed that the last 4 digets agree between the receipt and the Fitbit app.
I haven't keep close enough eye on it to see if the last 4 digits change with every transaction.
@Rich_Laue They don't change. I believe the only way the nunber changes is if you delete your card and then re-add it to fitbit pay.
Best AnswerThanks. This is causing me a real problem as I have to dispute a charge with a merchant and I don't have the card number to verify with them.
I have other virtual wallets and this is the first time I haven't had access to the full number and it feels like something that Fitbit surely knows and there's no conflict in sharing with me
Best Answer@Mb84 Just out of interest, which other mobile wallets have you used that display the full number?
I've just looked in my Google pay wallet and it's the same as Fitbit pay, only displaying the last four digits.
Yes disputing things and getting refunds can be a bit problematic with virtual cards, especially if you have had to re-register the card and have been given a new virtual number. Most retailers insist on refunding the money back onto the card you paid with. Well if the number has changed, this is then a problem.
Best AnswerYes most merchants do want to refund to the same account, usually they ask me to swipe or tap the card, but what happens if the card used is no longer valid or has been lost?
Have you thought about contacting the bank? Fitbit give a 5 digit number, it might be that the first digits are what are the same as the card .
This is where a title that summarizes the subject is helpful, maybe even easier to get the attention of someone who knows more about banking. When I saw the subject I thought it was referring to a number associated with the Fitbit account
