Device not recording steps after manually logging information

I had to take my watch off at the gym, and didn't record steps for a while. I decided to manually record an estimate of the steps taken (looked at the heart recording and carefully inserted the steps within the time it was offline without any overlap). I put the watch back on and went to work. When I checked my steps at work, I realized it wasn't recording at all, even though I had walked to work!

Unfortunately, I have the phone android app, and there is NO WAY to edit steps or any other exercise on my phone!

Hello @bjmantis it's nice to see you again participating here in the Community Forums, welcome back!

I appreciate all the details that were shared in your post, seems odd that after manually logged the steps your Ionic device stopped tracking your stats. To better assist you with this situation, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this and how many times since then? If you haven't already done so, I recommend you to restart your Ionic following the next steps:

  1. Press and hold the back and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen. For Fitbit Versa Lite Edition, hold the back button for 10 seconds.
  2. Let go of the buttons.
  3. If you still have issues with your device, turn it off and turn it back on. For more information, see How do I turn off my Fitbit device?

Also, you can manually log the steps that were not counted with your Ionic following the steps on: How do I add, edit, or delete Fitbit data and activities?

Keep me posted. Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Thank you! I did exactly what you suggested when I couldn't get the watch to continue logging steps. I was at work, and my Android app doesn't allow me to edit steps (or anything else!).

When I got home, I logged in an approximation of the amount of steps I took, and, though it looked weird, it did the job.

This hasn't happened with steps before, but it does weird things  with sleep. The watch sometimes doesn't log the first part of my night's sleep, so I'll log in a period of sleep carefully timed so I don't have any overlap. It does show how long I was in bed, but it has consistently changed the readings on the sleep stages.
