Device not tracking floors

Hello, my brand new Fitbit is about one month old and it is Not tracking floors climbed.  It says 0 floors climbed and I know I always climb stairs daily. 
why is this happening?  
how do I fix it?  
can it be fixed?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for the details that were shared in your post. Fitbit devices detect floors with an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Your device is designed to detect pressure changes based on elevation gain, but other types of pressure changes (such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door) can occasionally cause your device to register extra floors. Also, your device registers 1 floor when you climb about 10 feet, which is the average between residential and commercial floor heights. 

 

If after taking the above information into consideration you still experience difficulties with your Ionic and the floor-count feature, please try our restart process and let me know if the issue persists.

My adidas ionic is also having issues over the past 3 days it has stopped counting stairs and I have done a reset ??
