When will the Dexcom G6 app be comparable with the Ionic?

I would like to add my voice to this request. Fitbit, what is the hold up with this feature? It has been since 2017 since you announced it and diabetic patients like myself that bought the ionic in large part because of this feature are still waiting. Please release this soon. This delay is honestly leaving a bad taste in our side and might lead us to consider other manufacturer's devices when the time comes to replace our ionics if you continue delaying this feature.

Hi

Just to catch up on the Dexcom G6 and Fitbit sync.Saga? Have Fitbit managed to come up with a solution so I can get the reading from my Dexcom directly onto  a Fitbit watch? If so which model can do it?

Nope, but you should check out Glance. It is a Clock Face for Fitbit that
shows Dexcom data. I have been running it and it works very well with my
ionic.

The developer started a Facebook group for it, it is here:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/Glance/?ref=bookmarks

Also, here are the instructions for setting Glance up:

https://github.com/Rytiggy/Glance/wiki

For now, while Fitbit gets its act together it seems that this is the Best
option to show Dexcom data in Fitbit watches.

Hopefully this helps you.

Cheers,

Alfredo

As much as I hate to pay more I'm thinking Apple watch.

Yeah this is beyond disappointing. Not sure whose responsibility this is, Fitbit or Dexcom... maybe that's part of the problem. But when they declare that the Ionic will be compatible with Dexcom last year and  nothing's happened, it's really poor customer service, and frankly it's deceptive (it's the main reason I bought an Ionic).

Me too, but since I reluctantly moved to the latest Apple Watch (my first Apple product in years), I can’t have been happier! The combination of G6 with Apple Watch is so effective that my A1c’s after 6 months are by far the best EVER! Half of the recent improvement was from switching to G5 to G6 12 months ago, but the other half is since I abandoned my FitBit investment and started over. Best decision I ever made! Wish I’d never bought my Ionic and switched much earlier! The health improvement is well worth the cost! If you are still on G5 or FitBit, put your health first and upgrade!

Yes, couldn't agree more. I will have to say Fitbit fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice. Not gonna happen, either they release solid Dexcom soon or this is my first and last Fitbit watch.

I’ve had and enjoyed 5 or 6 FitBits over the years and WAS a big fan. But based on this experience: never again!

@KarlSi @pg8 @Gosh1976 You can search CGM on the fitbit clock face store or fitbit app store and find several third party CGM products. They are pretty good! They aren't official like you are asking for, but they work until a official product comes out!

Thanks. I have indeed done that and am using the Glance clock face for that purpose, but that still doesn't take Fitbit off the hook on being responsible for delivering what they promised a good while ago.

Same here...the only reason I purchased the Ionic is I called Fitbit and asked if they would be updated to include Dexcom usage, and I was told it would be.  Very miffed about this!

I'm back for my semi-annual check-in on the (2017) announced Fitbit / Dexcom CGM integration.  I continue to find no real update being shared and no app.  Can a mod or someone please share an update?
