My display does not switech on when I hold it up as it used to. It does if I press a button but not when I twist my wrist and bring it in to look at the face.

Hold the left button in 2 seconds.  At the top, check that Screen Wake is on Auto.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
