Do I need a Firmware update?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I just acquired an Ionic. According to the settings app, it is running Firmware version 27.33.1.30. Based on what I am reading in all the forums, this seems like an old version. But, the app and web based dashboard are saying that my firmware is up to date. Can anyone explain this?  Do I need to do a factory reset or anything like that?

Thanks

DS

Let's go to the help doc to confirm if you have the latest version.

What's changed in the latest Fitbit device update?

Why you don't see a note to update? Don't know, but if you want to try, do an add device and choose to replace your ionic.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like I do not have the most recent, according to the linked article. Unfortunately, replacing the device did not solve the problem.

Then reach out to Fitbit.

A hard-reset to factory settings solved the problem. While setting up the newly refreshed device, the firmware updated to the most current version.

Glad it is now updated.

Are you saying that adding the tracker to your account as a replacement device did not woke?

No, that method did not fix the problem. I tried multiple times. The only thing that updated the software was doing a hard reset. After going back to factory settings, the software updated as I was setting the tracker up as a new device.
