Do stairs and central air conditioning affect Ionics's floor count?

I have an odd question. My ionic stopped registering stairs since we have turned on the central AC. I tried a soft reset. The upstairs and downstairs are on different zones. Are stairs sensed by pressure?  Could this be effecting it. I think I noticed it last summer too and also when we were in the middle of a bad tropical depression.

Yes, stairs are sensed by changes in pressure. The tracker uses an altimeter to track this. If you go on a long walk on a flat surface on a very windy day you may see hundreds of stairs recorded.

Thanks...I had a feeling. And I have seen the walk thing if hills are included.

Maybe you have a clogged air duct or air conditioner? If you have a portable one, then you should see how its air-condensing device works. If you have air ducts in the house, it is better to look at the condition of the pipes through which the air flows circulate. Ours got so clogged up that we also had a tropical depression for about the whole of June until we realized we needed to clean it up. We couldn't get everything ourselves, so we called in specialists to clean up these things and they were satisfied with their work. Breathing became more comfortable, and the children again began to run around the rooms and spend a lot of time with each other in the evenings. We no longer need to create drafts in the house for coolness. Check your ventilation system!

Yes, stairs are sensed by changes in pressure. And if you want to fix it, you need to find a specialist who will do it. And ask him to do a service called free ac estimate, I think it should help you. In general, there are always a lot of problems with a/c, especially when you actively use this thing. Therefore, I am not surprised that this has happened to you, but you should not worry about finding a competent A/C specialist. He will help you. The main thing to remember is that you always need to clean the A/C. Otherwise, there may be problems with the parts in the future.

That definitely happened to me while hiking with my Fitbit - no stairs around but change in elevation triggered it.

Thank you for visiting our community and for sharing your floor count inquiry!

Fitbit devices that count floors have an altimeter sensor that detects when you go up in elevation. Your device registers 1 floor when you climb about 10 feet or 3 meters. Your device uses changes in barometric pressure combined with the steps you take to calculate floors climbed. Fitbit devices don’t count floors on stationary exercise equipment, such as a StairMaster or treadmill, or when you go down a flight of steps.

Thank you also for all your air conditioner advise. I hope your query got solved @Joilee2161.
