will the ionic sync using bluetooth ? If so, has the syncing been improved at all ?
Since it will have NFC for wireless payment will NFC be used as a syncing option ?

I'm going to go out on a pretty sturdy limb here and say, 99% odds the Ionic will remain in the Bluetooth camp for synching. Why? If for no other reason than it is the most universal communications medium for phones and computers currently on the market.

@SunsetRunner Fitbit Ionic syncs automatically and wirelessly to computers and 200+ leading iOS, Android & Windows devices using Bluetooth 4.0 wireless technology. It does not sync via NFC.

NFC is designed for really short distances and a minimum of slow data, would require holding sn NFC eqypt phone up to the tracker for the duration of the sync. Yes not convenient amd rules out all day sync.
