Earbuds wont pair

I have a new Ionic. Ive tried to pair my wireless esrbuds to it with no success. When I try to connect, the Ionic searches but doesnt find my esrbuds. Yes, I am sure they're turned on. This has happened with two diffetenr brsnds of earbuds.
