Elliptical not counting distance

When exercising on an elliptical as steps are counted, the distance is not. 

I have not seen where to just the actual exercise. For example, in a two-hour elliptical workout, the machine shows a distance of 8.77 miles yes ionic shows only .93

Any suggestions on how to fix or adjust?

Ionic cannot know the distance from the elliptical ( same other stationary machines like treadmills or rowing machines ). It's simply impossible for the wristwatch to know it just from the hands' movements. Fitbit doesn't support editing exercises ( which is weird but that's Fitbit ). What you can do is first track elliptical exercise and then log it manually entering the correct distance from the machine and other details same as in the tracked exercise. Then delete the tracked one. It's not a solution, it's a workaround but better this than nothing. I guess, it never crossed Fitbit engineers' minds that users may want to edit the tracked exercise afterwards.
