Never mind the lack of basic capabilities (music control, calendar, persistent notifications), now my Ionic can't even sync a watch face and is stuck in a "Clock Error" state. The phone app starts the sync, then fails and says that my watch isn't connected. Even though the app, sync, and phone all show that it is connected. I've tried hard reboot of watch, hard reboot of phone, and killing and restarting the phone app. No luck.
This is really a disappointing show of basic software quality from Fitbit. Return.

i like and can live with the ionic despite the bugs/issues, but it's definitely a gen 1 device.

Just hand my Ionic pull the "Clock Error" bit. I had to soft reset (left and bottom right button hold) and then switch watch faces to get it to come back. Oddly, I could get to the other apps, it was just the watch itself that had crashed (Gauges) Not extremely encouraging as I've only had it a few days. Perhaps we'll see an update on this soon.

So I won't be changing my clock face anytime soon.

did you go into the Bluetooth settings on your phone and forget the ionic before re-pairing it?

It works fine 95% of the time, and time the error is seen it is quickly fixed by trying again.
The ONLY time I have gotten it is trying to download the big file/face with the picture background.

I've dealt with this company for a long time. Since the first clip style Fitbit and this is par for the course. Constant product issues such as buggy software and hardware build quality issues.
I went through several Charge HRs for example because they kept on splitting around the screen. as an example. Lost a few Flexes because they ended up falling off because of the poorly designed clip and I wouldn't notice until long after. I've almost always had sync issues on Android phones too especially when I but a new Samsung phone which you'd figure they'd rush to get compatible because they're the most popular Android brand.
The only product I've bought from them that I didn't have any issues with was the Blaze. The problems especially early on are just something I've learned to accept. They to me have the best app for fitness tracking so I deal with the bad stuff. Usually several months in most of the issues get ironed out.
