FitBit Ionic shut down in cold weather

I rode my bike to work today 13km. It was about 8 degrees celcius. After about half the journey, the heart rate monitor stopped picking up my heart beat and shortly after the whole device seemed to shut down. I could not wake it up with the buttons until it warmed up once inside the office. I'm sure the temperature was nowhere near the -4 degrees celcius operating temperature. Is this common? Any suggestions. Otherwise, I'm loving the Ionic (it's about 2 weeks old).

I havent heard of it before.  Try restarting the Ionic several times and if it happens again contact Support (link in my signature )

I too get intermittent shutdowns during cold weather runs using gps + stored music with my Fitbit Ionic Addidas edition, typically 40F and below.
