Fitbit 0.S 3.0 allow for the support of Huawei P20 Lite?

Hi

I have recently purchased the fitbit ionic device and have had difficulty interfacing it with my Huawei P20 lite smartphone. Has this issue been addressed in the new firmware release? The problem has been there since April 2018 (based on the dates of articles within the forum) and I would say this release would be the best time to address these issues. Any insight into this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

That would not be addressed with a firmware release, it would be handled via an app update. My guess is that Fitbit has not obtained a Huawei P20 lite smartphone to test compatibility and they would need to ensure that any update to address this smartphone does not negatively impact other phone users. That's the main problem with Android. Almost all manufacturers slap their own skins and make other "tweaks" to stock Android which can impact development of the app.

Hello @Reed2503, it's good to see you visiting the Community forums for the first time.

Thank you for your questions regarding the latest firmware update and the compatibility with Huawei P20 Lite. As @SunsetRunner mentioned, this would not be addressed with a firmware release, and unfortunately we haven't received any updates to know when more phones could be included in the list of compatible devices. You can find the complete and update list here

Some users have been able to sync with this model, however we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility. To troubleshoot syncing issues, you can also check out the help article here

I hope this helps.

Hello @Reed2503

I have same sync issue with Huawei Mate 20 lite, after a couple of hours chatting with the Fitbit team by Tweet to solve the issue, the outcome: not good news for Huawei phones. fitbit developers are not working to solve this kind of CRITICAL problems for sync.

The only option available today is: install a 3rd party app from Google Store:

Sync Fix for Fitbit and Huawei/Honor phones (production & beta releases)

* I having testing this app with out issues,

** Be aware you have to follow the app setup. - Important

This is the job that Fitbit support must do, but the company is not worried about customers, and this is one of the reason why we are moving to other fitness devices (with strong support to fix issues).

Regards.

Thank you for sharing this information @Oscaraul, unfortunately we haven't received any updates regarding the future compatibility of some of the most recent Huawei models. I hope as well that it's possible to include more options in the list of compatible devices.
