Fitbit Connect Desktop Issues

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

First, I LOVE my Ionic...it's been the best tracker i've had so far and keeps a fairly accurate representation of steps / calories burned.  I think it might be a bit high on the calories burned in a workout but it's probably close.  And I've learned from previous experience to NOT think it's completely accurate and take it to heart.

Now...I am having issues with the Fitbit Connect Desktop app for my iMac.  The other day, the desktop app just quit working.  Not as in "it shuts down"...but as in I click on the icon to launch, the icon bounces as if it is starting, and then it just stops.  Crazy.   It takes FOREVER to transfer music onto the Ionic and I get messed up displays of estimated time remaining.  As in it says "time remaining of 3,540h".  I do like the Pandora feature of it playing my 4 most played stations.  That's cool!

Any fixes or updates to this?

@SunsetRunner Welcome to the Fitbit Community! Is this the first time you transfer music to your Ionic? Is this the first time it takes that long? Try uninstalling Fitbit Connect and then re-installing it. That could help you out!

Also, how strong is the Wi-Fi Connection you have? Make sure your watch it’s in range of your Wi-Fi network. For a stronger Wi-Fi connection, move your watch closer to your router.

Once you have done that; please check this helpful article which shows troubleshooting steps for music transferring. That should definitely help you out with this.

Try that out and let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

To answer some of your questions…

This is not the first time transferring music. First time went about 2 hours but I put on about 130 songs. This time I took off that playlist and added a new playlist with only 65 songs.

My iMac sits right next to my router and I have full internet connection and I had my watch placed directly under the computer, off my wrist, while it was downloading.

It eventually worked…just was unsure why it took so long.

Thank you!

@SunsetRunner Thanks for your reply and for sharing your experience! I'm glad to hear that it finally worked! How much time did it took this time?
