Fitbit Iconic won't Sync!

I've gone though all the steps to try and get this thing to work again. I've restarted it and phone, turned the Bluetooth off then on again, uninstalled the app and reinstalled it, I deleted the iconic from my Bluetooth list and even deleted the iconic from the fitbit app. Except now I can't even get it to reconnect with the app. I am so frustrated with this thing right now and I have officially ran out of ideas on how to get it to work. it's not even a year old yet....  If it helps I am using a Samsung note 8

It seems even fitbit's tech people are as stumped as I am because I have been messaging them all day today on Twitter and they still could not figure it out. so, so far I have a $300 fitbit that I have not had for even a year yet that is no use to me. sighs.

so after messaging tech support all day. the only thing they can tell me is my phone does not work with the iconic. please, tell me why my 5 year old Surge before it died 4 months ago worked perfectly with my new note 8 but yet the "New" Iconic won't work with a "newer" phone. Someone has something seriously backwards here. I loved my surge but I don't think I'm ever going with a fitbit again seeing how the newer models can't even work with newer phones. Best part is unless tech support can't read They knew what my phone was from the first time I messaged them and told them repeatedly what it was. it was only after they were stumped on why it would not work that they told me sorry they are not compatible. Never again. I knew I should have went with a Garmin but I Loved my surge. Silly me.

And yet note 8 is listed on the fitbit site as a compatible device.

I've had random and very temporary syncing issues before. Nothing like this. My major problems started in the 14th, after the latest app update. It seems the majority of the people experiencing this are Android users after this last update.

Despite numerous complaints, everyone is told to go through the troubleshooting steps that do nothing or that their phone is incompatible regardless of it working before or if it's actually compatible or not.

It doesn't seem like this will be addressed any time soon.

I wonder how long this will go on with them making excuses rather than actually looking into it. If so many people started complaining if an issue, especially around the same time, and after an update, you'd think they'd stop blaming the costumer's device and start looking at it from their end.
