I just purchased a set of HBQ-i7s Bluetooth earbuds (knock off air pods). They work great with my phone's bluetooth, and the sound quality is fine, but when I sync them with my Fitbit IONIC I get horribly crackly music, and the earbuds are out of sync - even playing at different rates!
I know it isn't the earbuds themselves as they play fine on every other device I connect to.
Is this a common problem with Fitbit Ionic's Bluetooth?

Your “solution” does not seem like an acceptable response. Obviously this is a systemic PRODUCT issue. Telling us to wear the watch on another wrist because the bluetooth signal isn’t strong enough to make it across our bodies to our headphone receivers is an issue. What is fitbit doing to fix the PRODUCT? I am not going to change HOW I use the watch, I will just change watches.

When is Fitbit going to fix the connectivity issue???
Such a waste of money for a product that doesn't work to its full potential.

Fitbit seem to be ignoring my message, since the update my Bluetooth headphones no longer pair with the ionic,it sees them but will not connect ,not faulty headphones as they work with other devices ,tried restarts ,forgein device and re- pairing etc and still they won't connect
Makes having music on my ionic useless .

I have the same issue. Every time I run, with every swing of my arms sound cuts out.... Very annoying, almost ready to return my ionic. 3 different sets of high end wireless headphones, same issue. All my headphones work great with other devices. I did not have this issue the first couple weeks with my ionic....What gives??!!!

Just sent a private message to the moderator SantiFitbit asking about this issue and any planned solutions. I am awaiting a response. I will post more when I receive it, or if I don't...

I've used a several different types of headphones with mine and the only ones that haven't had this issue were a cheap pair of Anker Soundbuds Curves. Unfortunately, the build quality on those is terrible and they died after like a month. For all of my more expensive headphones the only solution I've found is to switch the Ionic to my right wrist when I'm running with GPS and music.

I've tried that. Good luck
By the way do you want to buy my Ionic?

Your ionic broke is my guess. You'll have to buy a pair of flyers before they'll troubleshoot. I'm surprised they haven't been sued.
Get Outlook for Android
Seems that those who have flyers, still have this issue..

Does switching arms effect any of the stats? I thought we should wear it on our non dominant hand. But if it fixes the sound issue I'm all for it.

Switching wrists doesn't have any effect on stats as far as I can tell. Steps and heart rate seemed normal.

Hi Everyone!
Wow, I've had my Ionic less than a week and I am about to be a regular on this forum - bummer.
I have had the same problems as everyone here, I guess I need to do my homework before buying next time.
I have tried all of the suggestions here, but no luck. 😞
(running without music slows my times)
In the meantime, has anyone found anything that works? Tinfoil hats? or maybe a Pringle can?
Cheers,
C

If you’ve only had it a week, maybe try to return it! Given it doesn’t do what it claims to, you should be able to get a refund. I would gladly return mine, the biggest waste of money ever 😞

Have the same issue. Sound gets cut off.
Got an old Jabra Sport+ headset that works perfectly on my Android phone. But not on my Ionic.
Some research revealed that it could be a Bluetooth version issue. Apparently the Ionic requires the headset to have Bluetooth 4 or above.
I've ordered a new Bluetooth headset online today. Not a Flyer, but one that has Bluetooth 4.1.
I'll keep you all updated if that fixed the issue, once I've received it.
