Fitbit Ionic Inaccuracies

Have had it for a little over a week now.  First few days were okay, after some odd fits and starts with getting it up and running.

Then I noticed the annoyances piling on.

The weather information (either in the app on the watch, or on a face that shows weather) is often unavailable.  Despite my ipod always being on me and in close proximity to the watch for syncing.

This thing is generating steps out of thin air.  Hundreds and hundreds of steps.  It's so many extraneous steps that this feature is useless for me.  I wake up in the morning with 500-700 steps already tallied for the day!

The heart rate monitor can be wildly inaccurate.  It's usually more or less right, but every so often, it'll tell me my pulse is over 120, or 130, or even close to 150.. when at MOST it's at 120, and usually always under 100.

And in the last few days, it's only giving me simplified sleep information, citing a lack of pulse data.. despite having the pulse data for my sleep duration.  I'm not doing anything differently the last few nights, wearing it the same way, etc. and it's just not bothering with the analysis.

Yes, I wear this thing correctly, yes the battery is charged and rarely below 30%.  Yeah, I've experimented with 'dominant vs non-dominant' hand settings.  I've tinkered with sensitivity settings..  I've restarted it, turned it off, then on.  Nothing I'm changing seems to be generating any improvements.

I'm starting to feel as though I wasted a lot of money on an overly-fancy time-telling watch.  Not really sure what to do at this point.

Have you tried restarting it several times? If not give that a try. If it doesnt help try a factory reset (Settings app on the Ionic and scroll down to about). If it is still no better you will need to contact Support (link in my signature )  Let us know how you go

Right there with you. I only had mine for two days before I returned it. Did three factory resets and still had syncing issues and no music player control.

Take it back and get a refund. The syncing issues make the thing not fit for purpose. You might fix it one day, but the same issues will return.
