Fitbit Ionic Issue with Earphones

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

Just bought Fitbit Ionic Adidas edition and tried to sync with my Bluetooth earphones. It synced fine, started music but it felf like earphone is lagging while after 2 seconds left earphone completely stop playing. And that's every time if I restart music, both earphones will play for 2 seconds (with lag) and then only right one.

Also if I switch off my earphones and switch them back on, watch won't connect to them again, I need to remove earphones from the list, reboot watch and pair again.

Can anybody advise?

By the way, I am using Huawei free buds...

Much appreciated

Darijus

Welcome to the Forums @Darijus.

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing all of those details about the situation. I will be moving this thread to the Ionic board as I think it is better suited for it.

I'd like to ask some questions to better understand what is going on:

  • Are you connecting your Huawei buds with any other devices?
  • If you connect the buds with any other devices, do they work correctly?

Look forward to your reply.

Hi, @LanuzaFitbit

Yes, I am using my buds with many other devices like phone, laptop, tablet
and no issues at all. I tried to remove them from all other devices just in
case there are any interferences but the same issue all the time.

Darijus

Hello @Darijus.

Thanks for reaching back and answering those questions.

If you have not, let's try restarting the Fitbit itself and see if that helps it find the earbuds. Perhaps that should help in getting it all to work correctly.

Let me know if there are any further questions.

Hello @Darijus.

Thanks for trying the restart.

I'd like to ask if you have access to other earbuds so that you can try to pair to your Ionic to see if it does recognize any other earbuds or Bluetooth audio devices.

Look forward to your reply.

I'm having exactly the same issue. Using JBL Endurance Peak bluetooth headphones.

I had purchased Fitbit headphones to pair with my Ionic. Exactly the same issue you are experiencing. Apparently the Bluetooth is very weak on the Ionic and solution was to wear the device on the hand that is closest to Bluetooth receiver on headphone. Being a left-handed wearer that was not an option for me. Ended up returning the headphones. No solution as per Fitbit support on this.

I own the Powerbeats2 wireless headphone and have similar issues. With putting the Bluetooth receptor as low as possible on my left shoulder and running with my left hand as high as possible it works "more or less", but getting anyway randomly music interruptions. I wrote to the support and they told me that they are working on it. Hopefully a fix will be released very soon! You have two choices: Either running with a strange (but funny) position or singing yourself. Music feature unusable at moment.

Same here. Using JBL Endurance Peak and the left side will play for the first few seconds, but it lags behind the right and then just cuts out. Ugh!

Did you ever find a solution to it for yours?

Yes my solution was I tried to get a refund and Fitbit wouldn't give me one. So I went to my next solution which was to sell my Ionic and buy a Garmin Forerunner and I love it 😄

With the latest firmwares of My Ionic and PowerBeats it improved a bit. I can now run almost without interruptions but with following hints:

  • Do not put your watch under clothes (e.g. jacket)
  • I run with my hands in a "standard" running positions but at soon as I put my arms at the bottom, I'm getting some music interruptions
  • I make sure my earphones are fully charges and the bluetooth receiver is thanks God on the same side as my arm wearing my Ionic.

In short, smaller the distance is, less interruptions I get. For a full solution I think that a new device will probably the solution. Ionic 2 or Charge 4 with Spotify 😉
