Hi guys,
I'm currently torn between using a Fitbit Ionic to track my rugby, running and weights training or swapping it for a Charge 3.
I had the intention of purchasing a Charge 3 to track predominantly gym and running activity. I also play rugby and wanted to track my calorie burn/HR etc. during training. I have my concerns regarding the durability of a Fitbit in such an environment, hence why I was leaning towards a Charge as opposed to other models.
I was gifted with an Ionic at Christmas, and now I don't know if the product is too 'delicate' for rugby training. I wouldn't be as foolish as to use it while participating in contact sessions or anything that could potentially damage it, but I still have my reservations. The features of a Smartwatch are intriguing but have no bearing on my decision whatsoever.
Is it worthwhile hanging onto the Ionic or should I swap to the Charge? I would appreciate any constructive feedback.
Thanks.

I have both an Ionic and a Charge 3, and though I have never played rugby, I'd stick with the Ionic. It is a very sturdy construction and with the addition of a screen saver should be up to to rugby (I think). I regard it as more robust than the charge 3 and for me anyway maintains better contact with my (admittedly small) wrist for a good Heart Rate reading, no matter what I am doing.

Fantastic, good to know that something so sleek can be robust as well! Thank you for the reply, greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Fitbit Forums @Smeebit! It's nice to see you around. I'll be glad to assist you with your Fitbit and rugby inquiry.
Both devices have a durable design with Corning Gorilla Glas 3 Touchscreen.
I advise to give it a try with your Ionic as @NellyG mentioned and let us know how it goes.
Thank you for sharing your advise @NellyG!
