Fitbit Ionic and Charge 3 water problems

Hi, I have a Garmin Vivoactive (original) and never had any problems with water issues, i.e. pool, shower, ocean. I've been thinking about getting the Fitbit Ionic or Fitbit Charge 3 and have done much research. There are many reports that the Fitbit Ionic has problems with water getting into the watch, even with simple pool swimming, and the watch dies. I even read a review that the same thing happened with the Charge 3, even though there are no physical buttons, but water condensation showed up in the heart rate monitor area (underneath). I am now believing that NO Fitbit should be used near ANY water. Can you please comment on your own Fitbit water"proof" / water"resistant" issues? Thanks!

I use my Versa (which has physical buttons just like the Ionic) in the shower, in the pool and in salt water open water swims. Have absolutely not experienced any problem. Keeps working, no condensation. Very happy with its waterresistance.
