Fitbit Ionic auto recognizing wrong exercise

I went climbing yesterday afternoon - it usually picks up auto exercise as just ‘sport’ but it thought I was on an outdoor bike! Which I definitely was not ! Absolutely ridiculous for the price it cost me

Nobody said that the auto recognize was perfect, it simply looks at the arm movements and heart rate to guess at what is happening. I suggest tapping on the pencil and rename it to support or climbing.

Of course the exerciseecould be manually started from wrist.

I don't use auto-detection for anything except walking. It's quite hard to detect the right exercise just from the arm motion and HR. I log climbing manually or record it as Workout and later rename it ( from the selection of sports I think there is only Rock Climbing ).

It's nice to see you back in the forums @Livmorrt. I'l be glad to assist you with your exercise auto-detection inquiry.

As @Rich_Laue, mentioned auto recognize isn't perfect. You can start your exercise from your device in order to get the right type.  Also @SunsetRunner advise is really good.

I'll be here if you have more questions.
