I hoping that my watch isn't completely useless since it was quite expensive. Since last Monday I have been having multiple issue with syncing and losing time. After tech support told me to do a factory reset it has become worse and now the GPS has a very difficult time connecting and is inaccurate. I know my phone did an automatic update on the app last Monday and all of this has happened since. The app no longer says syncing, just says gathering data. I tried to "replace" the watch in the app to set it up and the phone can't even find my watch. I think there is incompatibility between the app and the firmware of my watch. The factory reset really messed things up! Is my watch dead or is there hope for recovery? All fitbit will do is offer 35% off another watch on their website. I have no confidence that another watch will be any better. Thoughts???

I had the same issue about a month ago. As usual the customer service wasn't much help past the standard reset, disconnect stuff etc.
I did a full reset and deleted all devices from my fitbit account. I then deleted the app from my Samsung A10s, which was a new phone, and installed it on my Samsung Galaxy tablet and set the Ionic up with no problems at all.
I think the phone was made incompatible through updates as it worked for a short while.
Just syncing it at night is fine for me as I dont lug a tablet around.
Other steps I take to not kill my Ionic are keeping it out of water, odd for a water resistant watch but that did my first one in.
Not letting the battery fully discharge. I charge it once it hits 50% or so. It seems these Ionic struggle from a fully depleted lipo, probably a software safeguard.
Hope this helps.
