Fitbit Ionic dead

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I got my ionic almost 2 years ago and the other day it went dead. tried charging it the usual hoping the battery was drained (never removed the watch unless i need to charge it) so left it for more than 1 hour and still nothing. transferred the usb charging cable and still the same. Tried all the Fitbit troubleshooting tips and still not working (wondering if ionic battery life last only 2 years). Any thoughts?

it is dead. no amount of troubleshooting will revive it. it is not pining for the fjords. it has gone, and its maker does not want to meet it. we will get more response from the innumerable deceased ionics if we try percussive therapy with a hammer.

please — i beg you — as much as you refuse to acknowledge it, this is a manufacturing / software defect. please stop wasting your (former) customers’ time and effort with inane and ineffective suggestions and implying that they are too stupid to get a wristwatch to work.

I am having the same problem. My Ionic was purchased in May 18 and is now dead in August 19. This Ionic was purchased with a discount in May 18 because my previous device also was faulty. I have had several fit bits over the years and none of them have lasted longer than 15 to 18 months. I love using my fit bit and it is great when it works but I am sick and tired of having to replace it every year and a half or so. Has anyone had a fit bit device that has lasted longer than two years? As much as I love Fit bit I think it is time to ditch fit bit and look at Gamin or Apple Watch.

  1. 100 % agree. It is obviously a fault in manufacture.

I have been a loyal fit bit user for many years but my patience is running thin.

You may offer a 12 month warranty but all the devices I have had make the 12 month warranty period and then die shortly thereafter.

Judging by the on line comments many seem to get past 12 months and die before 24 months. Not good enough. A device should last more than 12 months.

If your product is so good why don't you offer a 2 year warranty..
