Fitbit Ionic died while charging, will no longer turn on.

Received a notification that the battery was low, so went to charge it; came back an hour later and it won't turn on or charge anymore. Searched through these forums and tried several of the tips, called customer support and did all of the cleaning and button holding they asked me to do. Still nothing. All they could offer me was 20% off another device or 40% off another Ionic. I think not, please just fix the issue or at least figure out what is causing this. I have only had this Ionic for 16 months.
