Fitbit Ionic v Garmin Forerunner 645 Music

Is it just me or does it look like the Forerunner 645 Music is going to blow the Ionic away? The FR645 sounds like a serious running watch that does everything the Ionic does and more!

It looks similar in features for sure. They seem to have running tracking down well.

It is also about 40% higher in cost. so it's not really much of an apples-to-apples comparison.

The 645 is in a different league, hence the higher price -- always on display (transflective LCD), activities can be sync'd via WiFi or Bluetooth, it has audible alerts and prompts, HR and step graphs on the watch, respond to texts (Android only), training features that don't exist in Fitbit world, sensor support for things like foot pods (treadmill) and cadence (cycling), point-to-point navigation, and goes far beyond activity tracking to support tracking of alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, SUP, etc.

For the price, I'd spend a little more and get the 935, but I don't care about music, want 24 hour GPS battery life for long hikes and epic cycling events, triathlon mode, and support for cycling power meters.

Aria, Fitbit MobileTrack on iOS. Previous: Flex, Force, Surge, Blaze

The FR645 Music is my next running watch. Will be able to compare it with the Ionic head to head. Will be interesting to see what each reports wrt # of steps and run distance. The Garmin also has real-time cadence, which is a pretty decent metric to be able to see while running... to check turnover.

Yes I am also considering the Vivoactive 3 music. It has so many features that would be useful to me and Ionic unfortunately is very lacking.
