Fitbit Ionic won't sync to Galaxy S8

My fitbit ionic wouldn't sync so I tried troubleshooting. I have tried unpairing, restarting, all avenues. Even uninstalled app and deleted ionic off the app. Now the ionic will not even connect back with the fitbit app so it is worse than when I started.

I have the same issue only mine has never been unpaired.  I have this weird message on the face of it and cant see the face.
