Fitbit Ionic won't turn on.

I've had my Fitbit for 16 mos. I have loved it, and haven't had a single issue. I don't get it wet, even though you can swim with it, I keep it clean, I have never turned it off, and I let it fully charge. Last night, during a round of storms, I was standing under my porch briefly, there was lightning, but I wasn't struck by it, obviously. And I wasn't in the rain, so it didn't get rained on. I noticed later on, when I was trying to check the time, the ionic was off, couldn't turn it on, the green light is off on the underside, my app says device is not registering. I tried holding down  on the 3 buttons for 30sec, and tried charging it, note-it didn't even register a charge. Any thoughts or ideas? Thank you!!

I seem to have the same problem. 15 months and shut off. Battery wasn’t dead. Reset doesn’t work.

Mine is exact same problem . 18 months old and fully charged prior to bed time and suddenly went off middle of night when I woke up . Really sad that none of the solutions provided seem to bring it back to life and Unacceptable quality of ionic cannot even survive 2 years .

What are the chances of getting the 40% off the versa?

Yes they did contact me.

Assistance??

Aside from telling me of the 12 month warranty and the usual reset 'tricks' that don't work, they directed me to their website to purchase a new one!

No offer of compensation, no offer of any kind!!

The worst product support ever and a company that is selling an expressive item with a very well known issue and doing nothing about the customers who had faith in it.

Never buying anything from Fitbit again and telling everyone I know the same!

Shameful behaviour!

Guys, please don’t settle for any vouchers or discounts from Fitbit re. The ionic. I took my 8month ionic back to the store and they offered full refund , replacement etc. They said they are getting lots of ionics back more frequently now. So lots are already aware. This is a common problem and I think will become even more common. Fit bit should accommodate full replacements of ionics to all of those who are even out of warranty - some poor people will have it work past the guarantee and not get any replacements - this is not acceptable as they have produced a faulty ‘ timebomb’ of a poorly tested product. It can fail at any minute.

That aside - it was a great watch while it worked but to have expensive tech like that just die isn’t acceptable.

I now have the Apple Watch and it’s great.

Totally gutted. My 2nd Ionic has packed in. First one went at Christmas now this one has gone the same way. Blank screen, doesn't respond to any input. I've had Fitbits for years now and while I understand things break. It seem there is a known problem with Ionic's. It does make you question whether you stay with the brand. Even if I get a replacement. It's not good of losing an item for two or three weeks every six months. My Fitbit is part of my life, alarm, step counter, exercise tracker etc. Something needs to be done.

I know now I’m going to be told clean it, charge it, reset it. It seems such a waste of time when so many are saying the same thing.

This was my third. I am getting frustrated because they seem to die as soon
as the warranty runs out

I am just like all your other community members . On two occasions my Ionic has failed to charge at all. The first time I bought new cables spent hours with the support staff all to no avail. Later for no reason during a call with support staff is suddenly just started to charge . Weird.  3 months later it has done exactly the same thing and as I search on the community for answers it suddenly starts to charge again .Given my experience (frustrating ) and all the comments on the community surely the only plausible explanation is that there is a major fault and bug in this device. Why doesn't Fitbit just acknowledge this and take real corrective action before we all swap to Apple or Garmin or something more reliable.

I am asking for the larger discount on the versa that you have offered on the ionic since obviously there is an issue with the ionic.  Do they all have a problem quitting after warranty expires?

I am not sure, but I've been reading the message board and it seems like they just die after warranty expires. I will not be spending any more money on this brand, already had 3 of them. Just very frustrating that can't even get a normal answer from the company Sent from my Sprint Samsung Galaxy S9.

Same Case with me as well. My Ionic is exactly 16 Months old. I suppose FITBIT has set it up in such a way that the device fails after warranty. This is ridiculous to do so for an expensive watch like Ionic.

When contacted Customer support, a standard message of out of warranty . This is NOT fair and absolutely NOT Customer friendly from FITBIT.

They can not make the device shut just like that after a predetermined time frame

Looking on the forum, it looks like loads of Ionic's have stopped working in the last few days. Fitbit must know what the problem is.
It seems out of warranty you get offered a discount. Why would anyone buy another Ionic or other Fitbit without assurance that this problem is fixed?
Come on Fitbit, your loyal customers deserve some kind of information.

I'm having the exact same problem. I think it's time to switch brands, this is my 3rdth fitbit ionic in 1 year, and it just conked out today

Support staff will suggest all sorts of potential remedies and factory resets . None will work and none will address the route cause as to why we all experience such failures with our Ionic devices

It won't work . It is a fundamental flaw in the device that ionic refuse to recognise

I asked for 40% off the versa that they offer on purchasing a ionic and they won’t give it to me. So I guess I will be purchasing an Apple watch. Sooo disappointed 😞
