How can someone do 21,000 steps in 0.21 miles? Does fitbit track accurately? I usually remove fitbit ionic at night before I go to sleep, and this morning when I woke up I was surprised to see I have already walked 21,000 steps in sleep. If this is the case than I am sure fitbit doesn't have accuracy and it's waste of using. #fitbit

Welcome to the Community Forums @Reddy6979! While reading your post I was wondering if you checked if there was a fan or anything that may have been buzzing or vibrating on the same surface that Ionic was placed on? If so, try placing Ionic on a different surface without any vibrations and see if the issue persists. 

 

If the issue persists and you're pretty sure there is nothing vibrating on the same surface as Ionic and it continues to count steps on it's own, please let me know so I can move forward with the next steps. 

 

I had a similar issue a long time ago. I left my Ionic laying on my CPU and due to the vibrations from it, my tracker was tracking steps. Smiley Frustrated I faced with this twice in a row until I decided to charge my tracker from the CPU to my Mac.

I know you've done this, but if after taking these factors into account you still think your tracker is significantly undercounting or overcounting steps, please try a step test:

1. Restart your tracker.

2. Put your wrist-based tracker on your wrist.
3. Walk 100 steps, making sure to count a step each time one of your feet hits the ground.
4. Pause, then check your tracker to see your step count.
