Fitbit ionic dead and not charging

Hi. I have searched all the relevant posts. I have cleaned the watch and charger terminals with a cotton bud and alcohol rub. I have tried charging from USB and power point for 2 hours and still my watch is dead, doesn’t appear to be charging and the battery icon does not display. 
I am lost without it and would very much appreciate some help. Thanks.
