Fitbit ionic home button not working with it opening screen wake and notifications menu on its own

Hi

My fitbit ionic is just over a year old (by nearly 1 month) and today the home button stopped working. It also has been vibrating and opening up the screen wake and notification settings screen without me even touching the fitbit. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I have sent an email to support in hope for a resolution as I love my Fitbit 😞 and can’t afford to replace it.

Thankyou

Some have reported getting replacement devices a bit out of warranty.  So would try that first.  Their number is linked below.

Really there is no need to suffer in Frustration - simply call Tech Support at 877-623-4997 and get your Ionic replaced right now while you can
Many have followed this straightforward advice and now have a replacement Ionic - we all should have “zero tolerance” for any defective Ionic

Thankyou. I hope they can help me out. I’ve owned fitbits from 2013 and love them. This was the first one that has actually had an issue. I’ve lodged a ticket so hopefully I will hear from them soon. Is that phone number a number that can be called in Australia?

Not sure about Australia but hope you get your situation resolved quickly.

In researching noticed the number linked has been deleted from the Help Forum page in North America.  So anyone that needs a replacement should call them right now while it is still active.  Seems Fitbit has been overwhelmed with requests to get replacements and to get money back for refunds.

Unfortunately customer service just took a huge step backwards because of this.  Can see many more unhappy posts appearing on this Help Forum down the road due to this change.  Am amazed at the constant stream of upset Fitbit customers after the 3.0 firmware update.  Especially the quick battery drain and bricking of devices.

It’s ok, I have had an email from them. They have just asked for I have done a reset on the Fitbit. Yes, I did that and I’ve shut it down and turned it back on again because the home button hasn’t worked, I’ve changed the clock too just in case but the one of the times I pressed the home button last night and it worked, it went nuts and was constantly vibrating going to the wake settings area like it was getting stuck down inside. It wasn’t working all day.

I found this article that came out in June 2018 for Australia so I’m hoping they honor it. I’m not happy to have this constantly vibrate and wake me up overnight.
