Fitbit is Not registrering sleep stages correctly

Since a few days my Fitbit only registers basic sleep stages. It also stops registering sleep when I wake up at night and go to the bathroom. It doe not register any sleep after that. I have my Fitbit Ionic for many years now and this never happened. I have restarted my  device already without effect. I have the latest version on the app and watch. It registers my heartbeat so that is not the issue. Could this be related to the recent update?

I am having the same problem. My 2 years old Ionic started to register more and more simple sleep stages.  Than 2 weeks ago it would not sync anymore, and after a reboot it looped continuously in start-up.  So a factory reset was needed to get my Ioinic going again. As surprise  the sleep stages were also recorded correctly again.  So I am thinking now that this was an issue with the watch and not something else.

Also now again for 3 nights in a row only simple sleep stages.

I have rebooted my watch just now and will see if that will change anything. If not I will do again a complete reset to see it that solves the issue.

I also wonder if anyone has seen something similar.

Did you loose any data with the factory reset on the app?

if not I will try the same. My watch is about 2,5 years now.

If you are able to sync your watch , you will not loose data.

After I restarted my watch , I have now again 2 days of detailed sleep.

Well, I have reset my watch to factory settings and still no detailed  sleep data. It registers 4 hours of sleep on average for an entire night.
All the rest is functioning on my watch 😞

Hi Rose,  I would not know a solution for that.

My watch again logged 4 days in a row only simple sleep.   A restart yesterday did not help.

Again I decided to reset my watch completely and start form factory defaults.

Wondering if this will change anything.

I did a factory reset and no change.  Hopefully they can get this fixed.  If I have to buy a new watch I will be going away from Fitbit all together

I have restarted the watch and did a factory reset. It did not solve the problem. About 2 days later it started to register sleep again. Not sure what triggered it.
I did ensure that my phone had all recent updates as well before the factory reset.
