Fitbit products always have unstable SW quality especially for Bluetooth interoperability

Recently I bought a Fitbit ionic and met the sync issues just like everybody. It's very hard for ionic to sync with my phones. I tried both my phone ( Huawei P9 plus ) and tablet ( Lenovo Tab 3 plus ) and same issues. I am working on Bluetooth IC design industry and know that it should be a SW issue regarding Bluetooth low energy interoperability. BLE is not a new technology. All of the smart watch and bands use this technology for syncing. I really don't understand why such a famous company didn't fully test its products before launching to market. Other competitors like Xiaomi mi band have very stable BLE connection quality. It's really not difficult to resolve this issue. And this is not the first time happen !!. I bought Fitbit WiFi weight scale before. The WiFi connection also very unstable.

I think the QA process inside Fitbit company have big issues. The smart watch market has severe competition. If Fitbit keeps the same way to develop their products, It will be very dangerous for them to survive. I hope the management team of Fitbit is able to see this message and improve the SW quality soon.

I have read posts that indicate that previous Fitbit watches had QA hardware problems too. Many had to be returned for replacements many times. Time will tell how the Ionic will ultimately turn out.

I have tried my wife's iphone 6 plus, same issues. If you looked at user's comments on this community and app store, you will find it's not just related to if your device is supported. Sometimes it becomes un-sync after updating the App.

I don't have any problem at all with my Pixel (previously Nexus 5x) and my Aria, Blaze, Ionic and Zip (Rip)

I have a hard time believing the support matrix with phones. Vendors unfortunately document support matrix for android phones but I am not sure why support matrix cannot be established at the Android-OS level as opposed to specific phones. There is a plethora of android phones to choose from. It is unrealistic to be able to test virtually every phone. A good software should be able to work on a generic droid device as long as it has the required peripheral interfaces.

This is a easy and tactical way out or absolving of responsibility by claiming support issue with respect to phone.

Irrespective of who manufactures the phone, peripheral components should implement the same protocol for the same spec.
