Have woken up this morning to a blank screen fitbit ionic will just not turn on! Was fine at 1.30am. Battery is ok. How do i fix this?

It's a long shot but have you tried a restart by pressing and holding the back (left) and bottom buttons until you see the Fitbit logo on the screen? (This should take less than 10 seconds)

I did as suggested but I can’t connect now to the device as I need to be able to see the number on the screen and it is still blank.

That sounds like you are going through the initial setup process. Is this the case? Has it shown any signs of life at all? Did it show any signs of charging?

My guess would be that it's defective. You could contact customer support to see if they can help in any way and, if not, go through your warranty options. However, it might be easier to seek a replacement from the retailer.
