 I went on a 6 mile walk today. The GPS tracker logged my route and everything but my Fitbit still shows I have 0 active minutes

active minutes are not minutes you spent exercising. Active minutes are just minutes that you pushed yourself to the limit (recognizable by the device). Pretty much, matter of luck + you working out harder.

Hi,

The official Fitbit help page for Active Minutes states;

"Your Fitbit device recognizes and awards active minutes when the activity you're doing is more strenuous than regular walking, which includes everything from a brisk walk to a cardio workout or run."

So whilst a 6 mile walk seems like a lot, your device probably didn't recognise it as strenuous enough.  I.e, You may have had a too-low heart rate and calorie burn throughout.
