Freezing/Draining Battery

On Saturday, October 19th my fitbit froze while in a cornmaze & the battery was at around 70%.  I kept an eye on my watch & noticed that it didn't count any of the 10,000+ steps, as well as the battery was rapidly decreasing.  Normally 70% battery gets me around 5+ days.  Eventually my watch drained down to 0% battery & the next day when I recharged it, it never did accumulate for any of those steps.  However, it did start working again.

Fast forward to yesterday, I noticed in the middle of a soccer game it stopped counting my steps & the battery was draining quickly again.  When I got back home the battery was still around 15% & I gave it a charge up to 70% before putting it back on my wrist & going about my day.  However, it never started calculating steps again, and instead the battery started to rapidly drain.  So I let the watch battery drain down to 0% & charged it overnight.

This morning I put it back on & it is calculating my steps again.  Any idea on what is causing this?  It is quite annoying that the main thing I wanted this watch for, tracking steps, is stopping to function at some of the most critical times when I wanted the tracking to happen.

However, someone at fitbit has an answer to this, as it happening twice in a 8 day period seems that it will happen again soon.

@stpinterrain It's great to see you around. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with your Ionic.

I appreciate the troubleshooting you've tried. Sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your watch.

I'm not sure what's causing your Ionic's battery draining and freezing, please perform the following troubleshooting. I would like you to restart your Ionic and make sure you're fully charging it. After this, please follow these tips to extend your Fitbit device's battery life

Let me know how it goes.

Thank you for the reply @SilviaFitbit .  I assume that the reset buttons in the article for my device is holding the one button on the left & the bottom button the right (I have 2 buttons on the right)?  If so then I just restarted it.  You may not hear from me again for a week or two until I see if it freezes again, but I will report back.  If I notice it freeze, I will also try to reset it now that I know the function & see if that helps as well.
