I have been having this recently as well. I got my Ionic in December and for the first month or so, the GPS worked flawlessy (a thousand times more reliable than my Blaze ever was).
However, in the last couple of weeks, it has trouble connecting. I get the same as @rchilds1. Usually, I get tired of waiting for connection and start my run anyway. Today I was about 2km into my run when it finally got a connection. It maintained connection for the duration today. Last week, however, I had the oppposite - run started out fine and then it dropped connection at about 6km and picked up again around 10km.
Was thinking the Ionic was finally a Fitbit reliable enough for serious training and for real athletes. But now I'm not so sure.
