When I use the GPS running feature is it possible to see the map of my run anywhere?  I can't seem to find anything.

In the app, click exercise tile, then select the activity will bring it up.

I have the same question.  In the ionic advert video it shows a woman’s wrist with the map on her ionic.   How did she do that?

The power of marketing? I have no idea, do you have a link to that video?

@bbarrera, that's a hilarious picture, I mean 20,000 steps?  Seriously?  Any (and I do mean ANY) runner capable of a 54 minute 10-Mile run will most likely log 10,000 steps, or less.  Heck, I'm a fat(ish) old(ish) man and when I'm competing in 10-Mile races, I typically do it in less than 12,000 steps.

1.) Thats the Strava app map. If you sync to the strava website and have the app, you will see that map.

2.) Steps during a 10 mile run relies on your cadence (or steps per minute). Everyone's will be different.

Ummm, yes, but...

The thing is, slower runners will typically maintain a cadence of at least 150 with 160 to 170 being more typical for non-elite runners.  Personally I would classify anybody who can run 10 miles in 54 minutes (meaning a 5:24 average pace) as near elite.

Like I wrote above, 10,000 steps for a 54 minute 10-mile run will be near the upper limit, many runners will log as few as 9,700 steps.

Fair enough. It is just an advertising peice though.

yes, a cadence of 370 steps per minute (20,000 steps / 54 min) seems unusually high when the top runners in the world finish with a strong kick at 220 spm.

@apmeyers Using Strava app on the watch. Or Fitbit/Strava apps/website on phone, tablet, or computer.

Deceptive advertising is illegal. While 10 miles 54 mins and 20K steps doesn't appear to be deceptive (to me) if the map is was advertised as shown and not being shown in the actual use of the product, it is deceptive.

I am unable to discern the truth as I no longer have the product with me nor do I think I am following the material posted in the thread.

Just curious, why are you posting here?

It's part of the preloaded strava app that ships with the phone.

Hmmm, I don't believe there are any middle distance or longer runners who can get anywhere near 200 spm, much less 220, when approaching the finish line.  The fact is, 200+ is typically the exclusive realm of sprinters.

I don't see anything deceptive about that image, @Venkats, it is right off the Strava page:

@USAF-Larry

I am referencing the initial notes in this thread chain about the map that is displayed on the advertised watch image. I agree I don't see anything deceptive with respect to the numbers whether feasible or not. I am not following what is being said about the map.
