I manually start a run or walk using the watch, wait for GPS to connect, it says "connected". Once done with walk or run, I look into the exercise history log and no GPS details are there not even the mapped route, just normal info as if the GPS was never turned on. I have played around with the setting on my i phone 7....still nothing. I can use the fitbit app on the phone to track the exercise and it shows GPS info perfectly....but I shouldn't have to use the phone when Ionic has GPS built in. Not sure if it's REALLY connecting using the watch, how can you tell? hardware or software problem issue? And why doesn't GPS details show up in the fitbit log app? Anybody have any suggestions?
Best AnswerIn Fitbit app, go to days of weekly exercise and check if your exercise is shown in there. There should be a map as well showing all the details of your route.
Best AnswerNo. as I said, it shows general stuff as if GPS was not used. Fitbit App does not show mapped routes or any other "GPS" info. Watch says GPS is "connected" but the exercise weekly log doesn't show mapped routes or any other "GPS" info. So I don't know if it is REALLY connected or it is connected but the watch software just doesn't sync the "GPS" info part of the workout to the Fitbit App. not sure how to troubleshoot this problem! anybody have any suggestion?
Best Answerdid you check in exercise settings if the gps is indeed on?
Best Answeryes, I checked the settings in the Ionic and in the phone app. everything looks right. it just doesn't download the GPS info like the mapped routes, pace, distance. Can't figure it out. I did use the fitbit app on the phone to track a excerise using the phone GPS just to see if the app would sync that exercise and it did with no problem. So I'm wondering if the Ionic says "connected" but REALLY isn't working????
Best AnswerEverything else syncs ok to the phone except gps data?
Best Answeryeah. I even got about 1 hour of wifi to work...but that's a different topic.
I'm hoping its a software thing and not a hardware thing. but I can't figure out if it rweally is connected.
Best AnswerI think you should contact support team then, this is quite awkward
Best Answer*** UPDATE *** So after days of testing here's what i found out. The GPS is working on the watch. what's happening is that when I manually start an exercise with or without GPS it will not download it to the weekly exercise Fitbit app. The only thing that shows up in the weekly log is whatever it detects through the "Auto Recognize Exercises" option. if I turn off the "auto recognized exercises" option then it will not show the exercise in as ever been done. So....the question is if I do a "factory reset" on the watch, will it fix it and/or will it break something else that is working???
